Oman's national Futsal team coached by Younis Al Fahdi have started preparation for the forthcoming Gulf Futsal Championship to be held in Bahrain in October this year.
According to information received from Oman Football Association, the national futsal (indoor football) team have spotted new players and have included them in the ongoing camp.
The fresh faces were spotted during the Ministry of Sports Affairs Championship held recently.
The ongoing camp is an initial gathering before another training camp to be organised in August which aimed to raise the fitness and skills of the participating players.
One more camp for the team will be organised in Iran in September in preparation for the GCC Indoor Football Championship which will be organised in Bahrain next October and for participating in the Asian Qualifiers which will be held in December.
The national team's coach Younis Al Fahdi has selected nineteen players who are Mazin Al Hassani, Suhail Al HAmimi, A'iman Al Sooli, Mohammed Al Jabri, Hisham Al Zaabi, Basim Al Mekhaini, Mubarak Al Araimi, Ali Al Araimi, Rashid Al Ghafri, Khalfan Al Mawali, Hamad Al Adawi, Moosa Al Habsi, Isa Al JAbri, Mahana Al Habsi, Mohannad Al Shibli, Anwar Al Siyabi, Omar Al Hasani, Abdulaziz Al Raqadi and Mohannad Al Habsi.

Meanwhile, the Asian Futsal Championships 2016 will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This decision of the Committee of Futsal and beach soccer of Asian Football Confederation was ratified by the AFC Executive Committee.
As known, the matches of the 14th Asian Championship will be held from Februray 9 to 20 next year.
Tashkent has hosted the Asian championship on football twice in 2006 and 2010, but the previous drawings of the continental championship did not fulfill the role of the qualifying competition for the world championship.
The four best teams in the Asian Championship will be eligible to participate in the finals of the World Cup 2016 in Colombia.
However, it is a long road for Oman as they need to qualify for the Asian Championship first and then set eyes on the World Cup.
