Oman Club dominate derby tie15/February/2017
Oman Club showed local neighbours Bousher who the better team in Muscat were – stamping their authority all over the His Majesty’s Cup quarter final tie between the two with a 2-0 victory in the second leg.
Bousher needed goals early in order to give themselves the best chance of overturning a 3 goal difference from the first leg.
Oman shut them out in the first half as it ended scoreless at the Seeb Sports Stadium.
The second half was when the Oman Club showed their dominance. It was the stellar performance of Jafer Al Balushi, who came off the bench to great effect as he nabbed a brace.
The first saw him pounce onto a crisp pass from Hatem Al Hamami from out wide – drilling home the ball with a hard shot that went in despite the keeper getting a hand to it.
He added his second in the 67th minute, this time opting to slot it into the keepers near post as he left Amar Al Shibli with fumbling feet to double his lead.
The result saw Oman go through the semi-finals with 5-0 overall win against their local rivals, clearly sending out the message that they are here to contend for the championship.
