One of the emphasis areas during Paul Le Guen’s tenure as Oman National Team head coach has been creating scoring chances, and then finishing.
For the Red Warriors to pull out a result against an experienced European side like Republic of Ireland today in London – kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 Oman time (7:30 UK), watch live on Oman TV2 – Le Guen knows his side will need to capitalize on its opportunities.
“Finishing is always important,” Le Guen said. “Ireland as a good defense, and we know we will have to make our chances count.”
During Oman’s successful 2012 run so far, a number of players have found the back of the net. The team will need one of these players, or perhaps someone new, to emerge against Ireland.
