Muscat: Suwaiq will launch their His Majesty’s Cup title defence againt Salalah when the 2013-14 edition of the Sultanate’s premier football championship kicks off on November 21.
The draw ceremony, presided over High Highness Sayyid Mohammed bin Salem Al Said, was organised at Hotel Crowne Plaza in the presence of Sayyid Khalid Hamad Hamoud Busaidi and officials of the associaiton and the clubs.
While Suwaiq will take Salalah in their first match, eight-time champions Fanja are drawn against Saham and Dhofar, the only other team with eight titles under their belt, will face Majees.
The first-round matches of the 32-team championship will be played on November 21, 22 and 23. The second round is scheduled for December 5, 6 and 7. The quarterfinals will be played on January 6 and 7. The double-legged semifinals are scheduled for February 24/25 and March 25-26.
